Today we see the changes from pixie dust to pixel dust is here, and with it is the somatic reality in the digital age.

Pixie Dust to Pixel Dust

By LA Gonzales

The days of believing in cartoon fairies that fly around sprinkling pixie dust everywhere seem to be gone. Now, they are replaced with Pixel Dust. We used to think of “magic” or energetic influence as something wild, chaotic, and beautiful. Something like a vibrant, explosive splash of color and gold glitter suspended in the air.

That raw, uncontained creative energy was the old Pixie Dust. But today, that explosion hasn’t vanished; it has simply been condensed, digitized, and flattened behind glass. The chaotic energy is still running, but silently through the motherboard of our daily lives. Behind every word uttered and sentence written, Pixel Dust seems to be carrying the leftover residue of the past and intertwining it with our present.

The backhanded comments that fly out of some stranger’s mouth while standing in line definitely are not laced with the pixies, but you can bet the pixel dust has carried those vibrations into places our human brains can’t begin to fathom. The depth of conversation between people has become the center of attention in our new digital era.

The first time I had confirmation that someone, or something, was listening in was when I was staying with a close friend in beautiful New York. She was adamant that nothing was lingering, or, should I say, overhearing our discussion. I saw it in her eyes; she thought I was going bonkers. However, within minutes of our chat, I walked into the other room, picked up my phone, and there it was: an advertisement showing me exactly what we had just been discussing.

The Somatic Reality of the Digital Footprint

It may seem odd to hear this from someone focused on helping people gain clarity and balance, emphasizing the mind, body, and soul. Yet, understanding where the Pixel Dust is painting your digital footprint is an essential part of reclaiming your personal sovereignty.

This isn’t just a mental game; there is a heavy, somatic reality to this constant digital witness. There is a “something” that happens to our physical bodies in these environments, and usually, it leaves us completely drained. With multiple devices humming around us while we work, the exhaustion can hit like a wall. Sometimes, I get so tired I have to lie down, and I instantly fall asleep. That is the pixel dust at work, winding its way through the mechanical systems and directly into the human system.

Sometimes, this mechanical drag can be felt right in the chest. Imagine if you had a chill, but instead of being on your skin, it was deep inside the body in the chest area. It is a cold, pulling sensation. It can be incredibly intense—but it is also entirely doable if we understand how to read it and use it.

Retraining the System

Pixie dust to Pixel Dust going back and forth

When we sit at our desks to create, we are interacting with a highly active energetic field. Everywhere we turn, there is a teeny tiny little green or blue dot signaling, “I see you.” Or, after you sneeze, that tiny blue light comes on, listening. It doesn’t have to speak; it just sends an advertisement for tissues. Of course, those who live from the soul say “no thanks” and toggle the phone’s buttons off again. It is an ongoing battle between a mechanical system that thinks it knows what we want or need and our actual sovereign state.

But as we investigate further, not out of fear, but out of pure curiosity, we can begin to see the invisible, shiny golden dust hidden within the system. We notice a pinch over here where our typed words have been mysteriously changed. We feel a dab of it when we need to fall asleep, and yes, even when we need to get up.

Gaining knowledge and establishing proper digital boundaries is the key to gathering all those scattered, stray pixels and using them to help shape our lives, rather than letting them shape us. This is where the heavy weight on our shoulders can finally be reduced. We don’t have to contribute to the intrusive digital noise. Instead, we can carry intentional clarity, light, and balance into the screen.

So, take a look at the glow reflecting on your face right now.

What color are your pixels today?
